Samreen Ijaz is a virologist specialising in viral hepatitis infections and blood safety. Samreen has extensive experience in the development and application of novel serological and molecular methods for the investigation of blood borne infections.
Samreen’s expertise includes molecular characterisation and phylogeny studies of blood borne viruses (and the impact of these on the management/control of infections) and the development of novel methods for improved diagnostics and public health.
She led on investigating the emergence of HEV in the UK population and has >65 publications in the field.
