Supporting studies to assess the potential role of HIV infection on COVID-19 infection and outcomes, and the impact of COVID-19 on the mental/physical health of people living with HIV, and on HIV services

The impact of HIV on COVID-19 outcomes is unknown. We investigated the role of HIV infection in determining COVID-19 outcomes, determined whether immune suppression, viraemia or ART use are associated with poor outcomes, and described the impact of COVID-19 on mental/physical health of PWH, and on their ability to access healthcare.

Findings will support guidelines/recommendations for management of PWH during future pandemics.
