Use of the infrastructure of the Operational Delivery Networks (ODN) data and routine data sources linked to ODNs to identify factors contributing to multimorbidity in people with HCV, and its impact on care and treatment outcomes
Many people living with HCV infection carry experience multimorbidity. The extent to which these conditions impact on treatment outcomes and liver disease progression, morbidity and mortality is unknown. After cure of HCV infection it is not known to what extent multimorbidity may impact health. Using routine data relating to HCV treatment and linkage to routine data sources controlled by NHS Digital we will investigate the impact of multimorbidity on progression to liver related outcomes, including liver cancer, and liver related and all-cause mortality. We will use Hospital Episode Statistics to determine healthcare utilization and the health-economic burden incurred by people living with MLTC following cure of HCV infection.
