Understanding the experiences and needs of gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) diagnosed with mpox
Stigma is a critical feature of the experience of illness with mpox. The negative impacts of stigma may be further compounded by the relatively long isolation period for those with infection. Research is required to understand the experiences of GBMSM who have had mpox during the current outbreak to enable the development of clinical and social support which addresses stigma and improves health and well-being outcomes.
Findings will inform effective public health messaging and stigma reduction interventions.
