Roeann Osman is a Senior Scientist in the Blood Safety, Hepatitis, STI and HIV Division at UKHSA. She is an epidemiologist with expertise in sexual health, HIV prevention and infectious disease surveillance. Roeann completed a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London, where her research combined Neisseria gonorrhoeae whole genome sequencing, epidemiological and clinical data to inform public health and clinical decision-making.
Her previous work includes leading research on the acceptability and use of the 4CMenB vaccine among GBMSM, developing monitoring and evaluation indicators for STIs and HIV PrEP, and supporting national STI surveillance outputs. She has extensive experience managing and analysing large national datasets and conducting mixed-methods research in collaboration with sexual health services.
Roeann's research interests include infectious disease epidemiology, surveillance systems, and the integration of genomic, clinical and epidemiological data to improve public health decision-making, addressing health inequalities and translating research evidence into policy and practice.
