Gareth is a Consultant Epidemiologist in the Field Services Division at the UK Health Security Agency where he works within a field epidemiology team covering Yorkshire & Humber and the North East. After completing a PhD in virology at the University of Edinburgh, Gareth worked as a post-doctoral scientist at the US Centers for Disease Control and the University of Edinburgh before moving into public health as a field epidemiologist, completing the UK Field Epidemiology Training Programme.
