David is a research fellow at the UCL Institute for Global Health and has been working with the Blood-borne viruses (BBVs) and STIs Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) since 2022. His mission? To better understand the epidemiology of BBVs and STIs and to improve care and management for those affected. David earned his PhD in Epidemiology and Population Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Before diving into academia, he was out in the field as an epidemiologist with Medecins Sans Frontieres, making a difference in the humanitarian sector. When he's not busy teaching or researching, you can catch David running long distances, getting lost in fantasy and sci-fi novels, crafting historical fiction, or at the occasional salsa class busting a move.
