Lucy Cullen is a PhD candidate in Public Health Sociology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Lucy’s research interests relate to the sociology of health and illness, with particular focus on HIV illness experience, qualitative research methods and narrative analysis.

Lucy’s PhD research links with the broader project led by Professor Tim Rhodes and Pippa Grenfell, and is a longitudinal qualitative study looking at the meanings and experiences of viral suppression for people living with HIV in the UK, and how these are narrated over time.
