Theme B: Reducing the burden of undiagnosed STIs and BBVs

Dr Kara is currently the coordinator for two projects within PHE: the HPRU study that assesses the feasibility of testing for BBVs in A&E and a Department of Health Policy Research Programme funded study to improve the detection, management and contact tracing among individuals diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B virus. 

Prior to working in the Immunisation Department Edna has worked during the 2009 Swine Flu Pandemic at the HPA West Midlands Regional Epidemiology Unit.

She was also part of the Syndromic Surveillance Team during the 2012 London Olympics.
